We are thrilled to announce that MOI has acquired Harris Office Furniture, a company with nearly 75 years of expertise in the Roanoke, Virginia area.
This strategic acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for MOI, expanding our geographic reach and deepening our presence in the higher education and healthcare markets.
"When we decided to sell the business, we wanted to align with a dealer that had integrity and core values that mirrored ours. It was of equal importance that the leadership had a history of focusing on their employees and providing a vehicle for not only financial success, but also promoted a good work-life balance for our employees, many of which had been with us for over 20 years. After two years of actively marketing the business and speaking with various potential candidates, we were fortunate enough that MOI had an interest and ultimately decided to purchase our company. As a 44-year employee and former owner of Harris Office Furniture, I’m confident that the additional resources and leadership that MOI brings to the table will enhance our ability to serve our existing clients and increase our customer base. I can honestly say that the transition to MOI has exceeded our expectations, and we are all pleased to be part of the MOI Team," said Doug Hyre.
"Once the decision to sell was made, a wave of emotions hit as I faced the reality that a business that had been in my family since 1976 would no longer be ours. After considering several options, Doug and I realized the buyer needed to be the perfect fit: for us to exit smoothly, for the business to continue thriving, and for our employees to feel secure in the transition. I have never worked for any other company, and most of our employees have not worked for a large company. Joining MOI, a larger company, has been easier because it still feels like us, doing what we do best. MOI’s leadership emphasized wanting to maintain this during the purchasing process, and this has held true in the past few weeks. Knowing the MOI employees as I do, I believe we’ll continue doing what we do quite well for a long time," said Troy Reimer.
